Meet the Band

Richmond, VA based Mystic Blue was formed in September 2018, as a rebrand of the former band Infinite Monkey Theorem (2015).  Founded by the lead guitarist, Gabriel Metzger, the musicians in Mystic Blue represent over 50 years of combined experience in a number of music genres.

Gabriel Metzger may be young in age, but he is an old soul at heart.  He developed his love of blues from the start of his musical journey and it has only grown stronger over the years.

Gabriel showed interest in music at a very young age.  His father often tells of how he confiscated his CD collection at the age of three and would play one CD after another for hours.  At the age of five he asked to take guitar lessons, but was encouraged by the instructor to start with piano.  After 18 months he added guitar lessons.  While guitar remains his main focus, Gabriel can play a number of other instruments such as piano, mandolin, bass and drums.  He recently started adding vocals to his repertoire as well.  His musical influences began with Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, SRV and Led Zeppelin.  He is also a really big fan of Alter Bridge, Slash and Joe Satriani.  His more recent influences include Joe Bonamassa, Eric Gales, Gary Clark Jr. and Marcus King.

Don't be fooled by his stoic nature on stage; this young man can lay down the blues with the best of them and he plays with a maturity beyond his years.  In 2018 he was selected as one of the Top 10 Under 20 at the Dallas International Guitar Festival.  When he is not busy with school and his band at home in Virginia, he enjoys music camps such as Roots Rock Revival, G4 Experience, and the Pinetop Perkins Music Camp.  He also visits Nashville as often as possible, sitting in with bands like Mike Hayes and the Hustle at BB Kings.  Gabriel is currently writing his own music and hopes to put out his first EP in the very near future.

In the meantime you can find him on Facebook and YouTube.

Debbie Flood has been performing since age 13. She is an accomplished musician who has toured nationally and locally for three decades. Debbie grew up in New Jersey and at a young age was exposed to many musical genres ranging from marching band to orchestra/pit orchestra to jazz band to rock bands. She can both read music and play by ear.

Early in her playing she would spend hours and hours practicing by listening to records and playing along to such artists as Pat Benatar, Blondie, Led Zeppelin, and countless others. She also was the lead snare drummer in high school and continued to play while attending college.

Following college she auditioned for the band Disappear Fear, who she toured with nationally for a year. She played such venues as 9:30 Club, Bluebird Cafe, the Bitter End, the Birchmere, South by Southwest Music Festival, the High Sierra Mountain Music Festival and Mountain Stage to name a few.

More recently she has continued touring with Roni Lee who has a Gold album for her work with Joan Jett and the Runaways. With Roni she has performed at many incredible venues including the infamous Whisky-A-Gogo. The highlight of the tours with Roni was working with the GRRRRLLLSS ROCK organization located in Portland, Oregon hoping to inspire a new generation of female musicians.
